DCCC Launches New Ad Daring Disgraced Former Rep. Allen West to Run for Congress in TX-32

Do it, Allen!

Today, as disgraced former Florida Congressman and certified wacko Allen West publicly mulls a run for Congress in Texas’ 32nd congressional district, the DCCC is launching a new digital ad – urging West to take the plunge and jump into the race.

In 2012, West was thrown out of office by Florida voters after lighting $17 million on fire – losing his seat in Congress after a single controversy-riddled term and spending the most money in any U.S. House campaign to that point.

Now, after being run out of Florida, West claims the Dallas area as his home – where he’s gone to great lengths to float his name as a candidate for Congress in recent weeks. Yesterday, West joined Fox News’ Brian Kilmeade to hype up a highly-anticipated upcoming announcement on his political future on July 3.

This, of course, follows Dallas County Republicans’ months-long public trashing of 2018’s biggest loser: washed-up former Congressman Pete Sessions. But Sessions still hasn’t gotten the memo, telling National Journal that he’s still gunning for a 2020 re-match.

“‘Several things have to be put into place for the party to be able to support a good candidate,’ he said. ‘I fully anticipate I will be that candidate, but I’m not ready to announce that right now.’”

To Pete Sessions, we say: Come and take it.

What a mess.

The ad, viewable here, will target thousands of voters across TX-32:

“With his distinguished record of military service, successful electoral track record and unrivaled pro-Trump credentials, Allen West would be the instant frontrunner in a GOP primary for Texas’ 32nd district,” DCCC Spokesperson Avery Jaffe said. “Allen West may not be the candidate Washington Republicans need, but he is the one they deserve. He should absolutely run for Congress.”
