DCCC Launches “Voted No, Took the Dough” Dashboard

The DCCC is announcing a dashboard engineered to call out Republicans taking credit for landmark, historic legislation they voted against. Whether it be the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the American Rescue Plan, or community grants, Republicans aren’t going to be able to pull a fast one on their constituents.

See the dashboard at www.gopvotednotookthedough.com

Among the featured Republicans:

  • Michelle Steel (CA-45), who took credit for $8.3 million in funding to dredge the Newport Harbor after she voted against the Infrastructure bill that provided the funding for that project.

  • Mariannette Miller-Meeks (IA-01), who said it was “great to be here” while visiting a lock and dam days after the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers announced $1.2 billion in repairs courtesy of Democrats’ Infrastructure bill that Miller-Meeks voted against.

  • Ashley Hinson (IA-02), who claimed she “helped lead” efforts to get “game-changing” investments for dam modernization of the Upper Mississippi River after voting NO on the Infrastructure bill that funded the project. Hinson called the Infrastructure bill “socialist” and “Washington gamesmanship at its worst.”

  • Don Bacon (NE-02), who promoted the Restaurant Revitalization Fund in his district after voting NO on the American Rescue Plan that created said fund.

  • Yvette Herrell (NM-02), who asked for Infrastructure funds to be directed toward a Superfund Site cleanup in her district after voting against Dems’ bill that guaranteed that funding.

  • Ken Calvert (CA-41), who took credit for $20 million in earmarked transportation projects despite voting against the INVEST in America Act and the Infrastructure bill.

  • Andrew Garbarino (NY-02), who celebrated the MTA and Long Island Railroad announcement to reverse service cuts, despite voting against the American Rescue Plan which made the service restoration possible.

  • Among many, many others.

“If Republicans want to tout these critical victories coming to their districts, they should have voted for them,” said DCCC spokesperson Tommy Garcia. “House Democrats delivered these historic investments – if House Republicans had their way, none would have been made possible.”
