DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján today announced that retired Army Colonel Mike Derrick has earned a spot in the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee’s (DCCC) highly-competitive Red to Blue program.
Since announcing his run for Congress, Derrick has surpassed aggressive organization and infrastructure goals, and demonstrated the ability and commitment to serving the needs of the North Country.
“Bronze Star Medal recipient Colonel Mike Derrick (ret.) has spent his entire career keeping Americans safe and putting his country first, and now he is ready to do the same for the North Country. Colonel Derrick has put together a smart campaign with a strong local backing that has earned him a spot on our Red to Blue program,” said DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján. “This November, I am confident that voters will elect Colonel Mike Derrick in New York’s 21st Congressional District and oust Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who puts her own party over the North Country.”
President Obama won this district twice – earning more than 53% of the vote in 2012.
