We hate to do it, but if House Republicans are too embarrassed to announce their fundraising, we’ll do it for them (again). Late Wednesday the National Republican Campaign Committee posted their FEC report which showed they had been outraised by the DCCC by over $2.2 million in October. This comes despite the NRCC’s extremely innovative Trump wrapping paper sale, and now means the DCCC has outraised the NRCC by more than $30 million in 2019.
Amid retirements, bad headlines, and their party’s flat out refusal to come to the table and pass an agenda that reflects the priorities of the American people, the fundraising gap between the DCCC and the NRCC is a growing problem for Republicans.
The DCCC has now outraised the NRCC for ten straight months in 2019 and is building the resources to protect and expand this House Majority in 2020. The DCCC enters the last month of 2019 with $43.6 million cash on hand—$15.4 million more than the NRCC.
“The American people have clearly not forgotten that Republicans tried to undermine their access to affordable health care and passed a massive tax handout to big corporations, financed by a tax increase on working Americans,” said DCCC Spokesperson Cole Leiter. “Voters know that Democrats are fighting for kitchen-table issues that affect everyday Americans, and they are standing with us as we work to protect and expand this House Majority.”
