The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee will report raising $10 million in August, posting the most successful off-year August in DCCC history. Nearly 250,000 grassroots donors powered two-thirds of the DCCC’s overall haul, giving more than $6.6 million.
“Our grassroots support is proof positive the American people believe in protecting a woman’s right to make choices about her own body, defending our democracy from attacks by insurrectionists, and want to protect the health and economic progress Democrats delivered in the American Rescue Plan thanks to President Biden, House Democrats, and Speaker Pelosi’s leadership,” said DCCC Chairman Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney. “While extremist House Republicans whip up dangerous and deadly conspiracies, even encouraging Americans to consume horse dewormer over taking life-saving vaccines, Democrats are fully focused on delivering for the people and the voters know it.”
DCCC’s August fundraising tops its off-year August of 2019 by over $2.8 million, and the committee entered September debt-free with $53.3 million cash on hand.
