$2.5M raised online in November; average online gift $18
Over $40M online in 2017 compared to $19.7M online in all of 2015
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee today announced record-breaking fundraising for November of the off year. In November, the DCCC raised $6.93M total compared to $4.56M in November of 2015. Reflecting the grassroots energy behind House Democrats, the committee raised $2.5M online in November with an average gift of $18. The Direct Marketing program raised just shy of $1.72M.
Overall, the DCCC has raised over $96M total in 2017 thus far, with $40M from online donations. Over 250,000 first-time online donors and 160,000 first-time Direct Marketing donors contributed to this total. In 2017, the DCCC has received over 2.72M individual gifts under $200 both online and through direct marketing.
Despite full Republican control of Washington, the DCCC outraised the NRCC seven months in a row (May-Nov). In November, the NRCC reportedly raised only $3.8M.
“With the House in play and incredible Democratic candidates stepping up to run for Congress across the country, we continue to set fundraising records propelled by grassroots donations,” said DCCC Chairman Ben Ray Luján. “We have successfully built the largest battlefield in a decade and are making Republicans fight for every inch of the map. The backlash to Republican-controlled Washington is only going to grow stronger as House Republicans force a historically unpopular Tax Scam onto the American people.”
