The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for Arizona’s First Congressional District, “Countless,” highlighting David Schweikert’s long record of restricting women’s reproductive freedom.
During Schweikert’s first term in Congress, he co-sponsored a national abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the woman. He then continued to support this dangerous abortion ban, which could also ban birth control, a total of SIX times.
Schweikert even voted against legislation that would have prevented Arizona’s archaic 1864 Arizona abortion ban, voting instead to allow state politicians to continue banning abortion.
The ad – the first to run in AZ-01 from the DCCC IE – is airing in the Phoenix media market beginning today and is part of the committee’s previously announced investments in key battleground districts.
