Today, the DCCC released its first TV ad in the race for Michigan’s 7th Congressional District, “One Hundred Percent,” highlighting Tom Barrett’s extreme anti-abortion agenda that threatens mid-Michiganders reproductive freedoms.
Barrett has been adamant about his staunch anti-abortion beliefs, including calling himself “100% PRO-LIFE – NO EXCEPTIONS” and supporting the 1931 Michigan law that would ban abortion with no exceptions for rape or incest.
In the state legislature, he cosponsored a resolution to make abortion a crime, threatening to put women and doctors in prison. Now, he supports a national ban on abortion.
When he was confronted with his extreme stance, Barrett said, “I know I’m right.”
The ad – the first to run in MI-07 from the DCCC IE – is airing in the Lansing media market beginning today and is part of the committee’s previously announced investments in key battleground districts.
