DCCC Releases First TV Ad in NC-01: “Last Place”

The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for North Carolina’s First Congressional District, “Last Place,” highlighting Laurie Buckhout’s extreme views on abortion and her connection to Mark Robinson.

The ad – featuring North Carolina women – starts by noting how Buckhout isn’t from North Carolina. Then the ad hits Buckhout for her “cruel” and “dangerous” anti-abortion rights views, which includes letting states ban abortion with no exceptions.

The ad also highlights photos of Buckhout with Mark Robinson that Buckhout has deleted from her social media in light of the disturbing revelations about Robinson. Buckhout has still not denounced Robinson or asked for a refund of her substantial contributions to his campaign.

The ad – the first to run in NC-01 from the DCCC IE – is airing in Greenville and Raleigh media markets beginning today and is part of the committee’s previously announced investments in key battleground districts.

Last Place

Transcript:

“Laurie Buckhout isn’t from here.

And she’s not just any Republican either.

She would allow states to ban abortion, with no exceptions for rape or incest.

No exceptions, even if the mother’s life is at risk.

And Laurie Buckhout would allow state governments to track pregnant women.

To prosecute them if they get an abortion.

That’s not just extreme.

It’s not just dangerous.

It’s cruel.

The last place Laurie Buckhout should be is in Congress.

D-C-C-C is responsible for the content of this ad.”
