DCCC Releases First TV Ad in NM-02: “Eliminated”

The DCCC is also running the ad in Spanish, Basta

The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for NM-02 in English and Spanish, “Eliminated” and “Basta,” highlighting Yvette Herrell’s extreme anti-abortion rhetoric and record.

The ad features a video of Yvette Herrell in her own words saying that she wishes she could have “eliminated all abortion in the state” while in the state legislature. It also hits Herrell for supporting extreme abortion bans with no exceptions and being “proud” to have co-sponsored legislation calling for women and doctors to face felony charges for abortions, even in cases of rape or incest.

The ad – the first to run in NM-02 from the DCCC IE – is airing in the Albuquerque and El Paso media markets beginning today and is part of the committee’s previously announced investments in key battleground districts.

Eliminated

Transcript:

“Let’s see, Yvette Herrell’s record protecting New Mexico women?

Yvette: ‘I wish we could have eliminated all abortion in the state.’

Extremist Yvette Herrell would ban abortion in New Mexico.

Even in cases of rape or when the life of the mother is in danger.

And for the most unfortunate women, Herrell said she was proud to criminalize abortion.

Proud to lock up women and doctors.

Yvette Herrell, a record too extreme for New Mexico.

D-C-C-C is responsible for the content of this ad.”
