| The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for Texas’ 34th Congressional District, “Probadita,” showing how House Republicans’ cost-raising agenda is threatening a South Texas cornerstone – the cookout.
The ad highlights the astronomical price increases in cookout staples like beef, carne asada, and produce like lettuce and tomatoes. In the last week, multiple Texas BBQ spots have been forced to pull brisket from their menus because the cost is just too high. While Eric Flores celebrates the reckless tariffs that are driving up prices, Congressman Vicente Gonzalez is working to make life more affordable for South Texas.
The ad – the fourth to run in TX-34 from the DCCC and Vicente Gonzalez for Congress campaign – is airing in the Harlingen media market beginning today and is part of the committee’s coordinated spending in key battleground districts.
Transcript:
“Nothing brings South Texas together like a cookout. But have you seen the price of beef lately?
Republican tariffs are driving up the cost of carne asada, produce, and just about everything else.
¿Y lo demás? (Where’s the rest?)
¡Puras migajas! (Just crumbs!)
At this rate, carne asada’s are going to be carne probadita.
I’m Vicente Gonzalez, and I approve this message, because we need to bring down prices before more families get burned.”
