DCCC Releases New Ad – ‘Remember’ – Showing How Carl DeMaio’s Tea Party Agenda Would Make College Less Affordable

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee is launching its latest television ad in California’s 52nd Congressional District. The ad, “Remember,” takes Carl DeMaio to task on education, and features testimonials from three California women who paid for their education with student loans discussing how DeMaio’s Tea Party agenda would have cut student loans and taken away opportunities for students. The ad begins running on broadcast and cable in the district today.

Script of DCCC IE Ad “Remember”

[RENEE] I remember my first hearing.

[STEPHANIE] Meeting my first client.

[REAGAN] My first day teaching.

[RENEE] I was terrified.

[STEPHANIE] Butterflies in my stomach.

[RENEE] But now I own my own firm.

[REAGAN] I’ve taught over 200 kids.

[STEPHANIE] I couldn’t have done it without student loans.

[RENEE] I was able to become a lawyer because of student loans.

[REAGAN] So when I hear that Carl DeMaio backed a budget that would cut student loans.

[STEPHANIE] No way.

[RENEE] Absolutely the wrong thing to do.

[REAGAN] That’s not ok.

[RENEE] Everyone should have the same chance I had.

[REAGAN] And we can’t let a Tea Party politician like Carl DeMaio take that away.
