In Television and Radio Ads, DCCC Holds Republicans Accountable for Putting Party Loyalty First, Supporting Trump
In a new wave of television and radio advertising, the DCCC is holding House Republican incumbents accountable for supporting Donald Trump for president, and failing to stand up to his hateful rhetoric, personal attacks and dangerous agenda.
Targeting Representatives Erik Paulsen (MN-03), Will Hurd (TX-23), David Young (IA-03) and Carlos Curbelo (FL-26), the DCCC will urge voters to hold House Republicans accountable for their toxic and unfit standardbearer, and their willingness to put Republican Party loyalty over what is best for the safety of our country.
- In Minnesota, voters will be reminded that Erik Paulsen has said that he “plan[s] on voting for the nominee.” The ad asks what this says about Erik Paulsen, given that Trump is dangerous and has repeatedly attacked women, the disabled and others. The answer? “Everything we need to know.”
- WATCH “Say”
- In Texas, voters will learn in English and Spanish that Will Hurd is refusing to disavow Donald Trump or denounce the hateful things that he has said about Hispanics and American veterans. Voters will be reminded of Trump’s hateful rhetoric and disgustingly anti-immigrant policies, including a mass deportation force, and that Hurd has failed to stand up to his standardbearer.
- In Iowa, voters will see a clear contrast between Jim Mowrer, who put his country first and life on the line by serving overseas in Iraq, and Rep. David Young, who continues to put his party loyalty and personal politics before his country by supporting Donald Trump and his reckless, truly dangerous, foreign policy.
- WATCH “Before Country”
- In Florida, voters are learning that despite his claims of being a moderate, Rep. Carlos Curbelo falls in line with the Trump-Republican Party each day. Spanish-speaking voters will learn that Curbelo is using his sham “immigration reform” PAC to fund candidates who have the same dangerous and hateful positions as Donald Trump and Republican leaders in Washington.
- LISTEN to “Dime Con Quien Andas”
“Donald Trump is wrong for America, and so are the Republicans who support him for president and fail to stand up to his hateful rhetoric and dangerous vision for our country,” said Meredith Kelly of the DCCC. “At the polls, voters will not only reject Donald Trump, but also the House Republicans who clearly do not have the strength of judgement or character to put their country first.”
