DCCC Releases New TV Ad in IA-01: “Thirty Eight”

The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for IA-01, “Thirty Eight,” highlighting Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ dangerous anti-abortion record, which includes supporting a national abortion ban with no exceptions for rape, incest, or the woman’s life.

The ad – the first to run in IA-01 from the DCCC IE – is airing in Davenport, Cedar Rapids, and Des Moines beginning today and is part of the committee’s previously announced investments in key battleground districts. The ad is going on air the day after new polling shows this race in a dead heat and that a majority of Iowa voters oppose the state’s near-total abortion ban.

After finishing nursing school in Iowa City, I worked as a nurse for thirty eight years.

Sometimes my patients faced very tough decisions.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks would strip away their right to make those decisions.

She supported banning abortion nationwide – no exceptions for rape, incest, or medical emergencies.

Nurses who provide life-saving care could go to jail.

Mariannette Miller-Meeks is way too extreme for Iowa.
