The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for KY-06, “
Basically the Same,” highlighting how Zach Dembo’s opponent Ralph Alvarado is basically the same guy as disgraced former Governor Matt Bevin.
The ad – which features a cameo from Governor Andy Beshear, who carried KY-06 by 20 points and has endorsed Dembo – highlights how Alvarado backed Bevin’s harmful policies and kept silent even when he pardoned hundreds of criminals, including a child rapist. The ad uses cardboard cut outs of Bevin and Alvarado to demonstrate that they are, “basically the same.”
The ad – the second to run in KY-06 from the DCCC and the Zach Dembo campaign – is airing in the Lexington media market beginning today and is part of the committee’s coordinated spending in key battleground districts.

Zach Dembo: I’m Zach Dembo, and this is my opponent.
Ok, you got me.
That’s a cardboard cut out of Matt Bevin.
But Ralph Alvarado is basically the same guy.
He was Bevin’s running mate.
Backed his attacks on seniors, Medicaid.
And kept silent while Bevin pardoned hundreds of criminals, including a child rapist.
I approve this message, because Matt Bevin was bad for Kentucky.
Ralph Alvarado would be even worse.
Dembo: I thought we got rid of this guy?
Governor Beshear: Yeah, tell me about it.
