| The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for North Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, “DUI,” exposing Laurie Buckhout’s disregard for the rules that everyone else has to play by.
When Buckhout was arrested for drunk driving, she didn’t accept responsibility for her actions, she attempted to get out of them by name-dropping military officials.
The ad – the fourth to run in NC-01 from the DCCC and Don Davis for Congress campaign – is airing in the Norfolk, Greenville and Raleigh Asheville media markets beginning today and is part of the committee’s coordinated spending in key battleground districts.

“Here in Eastern North Carolina we play by the rules. But Laurie Buckhout thinks the rules for us don’t apply to her.
Buckhout was arrested for drunk driving, putting people’s lives in danger.
And instead of owning up to it Buckhout tried to get out of it,
‘Tonight a two-star at the Pentagon asked me to stay late.’
Who does she think she is? Eastern North Carolina deserves better than Laurie Buckhout.
‘Right now you’re under arrest for DUI.’
‘Am I going to jail?’”
