DCCC Releases New TV Ad in NC-01: “Pattern”

The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for North Carolina’s 1st Congressional District, “Pattern,” expanding on allegations about Republican Sandy Smith’s pattern of domestic violence towards multiple family members – including two former husbands and her teenage daughter.

The TV ad lays out the disturbing pattern of Sandy Smith’s alleged physical abuse. According to her first husband, Smith attempted to run him over with her car and if he “hadn’t moved ‘it would have been a direct hit’.” Her second husband said that Smith broke through a door and assaulted him. The ad also references allegations that Smith punched her teenage daughter in the face and directs viewers to SandySmithFacts.org, which provides the court documents filed by Sandy Smith’s daughter.

The ad – the second to run in NC-01 from the DCCC IE – is airing in the Raleigh and Greenville media markets beginning today and is part of the committee’s previously announced investments in key battleground districts.
