DCCC Releases New TV Ad in OH-09: “Differences”

The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for Ohio’s Ninth District, “Differences,” highlighting the stark contrast between Derek Merrin’s record of working for special interests and Marcy Kaptur’s record of delivering for Northwest Ohio.

OH-09 voters squarely rejected Derek Merrin’s extreme agenda in 2024 for good reason. While he supports tax breaks for data centers, bail outs for corrupt energy companies, and cost-spiking forever wars and tariffs, Marcy has spent her time in Congress fighting to cut middle-class taxes, lower utility bills, and end the reckless war in Iran. That’s the difference: Merrin works for them, Marcy works for us.

The ad – the eighth to run in OH-09 from the DCCC and Kaptur for Congress – is airing in the Toledo media market beginning today and is part of the committee’s coordinated spending in key battleground districts.

Transcript:

“Elections are about differences, and the differences in this race could not be more clear.

My opponent supports tax breaks for data centers. I want to cut your taxes.

He gave FirstEnergy a billion dollar bailout. My legislation would lower your electric bill.

And he backs this unnecessary war that’s raised prices on everything. I want to end these forever wars.

Which gets to the real difference: he works for them, but I work for you.

I’m Marcy Kaptur, and I approve this message.”
