| The DCCC released a new TV ad in the race for Pennsylvania’s 1st Congressional District, “Backed,” highlighting how Governor Josh Shapiro and The Philadelphia Inquirer Editorial Board are both backing Bob Harvie – because a vote for Bob is a vote to flip control of Congress.
The ad includes footage of Governor Shapiro rallying alongside Bob and telling voters: “We need Bob Harvie.” It also quotes the Philadelphia Inquirer Editorial Board, who wrote in their endorsement of Bob that he is “humble and hardworking” and “will answer to people, not Trump.”
Governor Shapiro has endorsed Bob and campaigned alongside him in the closing weeks of the race. The Inquirer Editorial Board endorsed Bob, which is particularly significant given that they backed Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick in prior years.
The ad – the third to run in PA-01 from the DCCC and the Harvie campaign – is airing in the Philadelphia media market beginning today and is part of the committee’s coordinated spending in key battleground districts.
