Today, the DCCC is launching ads reminding Congressmen Rodney Davis (IL-13), Adam Kinzinger (IL-16), Lee Zeldin (NY-01), and Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-01) that there’s a much better alternative than life in the minority: life in retirement.
These personalized ads, geo-targeted to their Congressional districts, come one week after the DCCC added those same Congressmen to the Retirement Watch List. Their addition to the Retirement Watch List came after 7 Republicans announced they’d retire in the span of just two weeks.
“Republicans in Washington know their health care repeal agenda is historically unpopular, and instead of running yet another tough campaign for the next 15 months they’re heading for the exits,” said DCCC spokesperson Cole Leiter. “Frankly, you can’t blame them and these ads serve to remind Congressmen Davis, Kinzinger, Zeldin, and Fitzpatrick of the better life so many of their colleagues are choosing, rather than return to life in the minority in Washington.”
