DCCC Sees Fundraising Boost After SCOTUS Coordinated Campaign Spending Ruling

In the 24 hours after the U.S. Supreme Court made the most significant change to campaign finance law since Citizens United, further paving the way for billionaires to try to silence the voice of voters in our elections, grassroots donors rallied to show support for Democratic efforts to retake the House Majority. This massive fundraising day is proof positive that Democrats remain favored to take back the majority, despite Republicans’ best efforts to rig the system in their favor.

From Politico’s Inside Congress:

DCCC SEES FUNDRAISING BOOST AFTER SCOTUS RULING — The House Democrats’ campaign arm is boasting its second biggest online fundraising day of the cycle after the Supreme Court struck down limits on coordinated spending between candidates and political parties on Tuesday.

The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee raised nearly $400,000 in the 24 hours following the ruling, according to the committee — its biggest day in more than a year.

The committee said 20 percent of its earnings for the day came from over 1,000 new donors — its largest increase in new donors and new donor revenue in a single day this year.

DCCC Communications Director Courtney Rice:
“The strength of our grassroots donors throughout the cycle, and in the last 24 hours in particular, makes clear that Republicans can scheme all they want to rig the game in their favor, but Democrats are still poised to win the House Majority this fall.”
