Grassroots Dollars Help DCCC Surpass August ‘18 Record By $7 Million
Committee Enters September With $104.7M Cash On Hand
As House Democrats continue to hammer Republicans in television ads for attacking Americans’ health care during a deadly pandemic, the DCCC announced its best-ever August fundraising haul – bringing in more than $22.6M for the month. The DCCC surpassed its previous August record of $15.4M.
With Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House, the DCCC has raised $248.8M this election cycle and has $104.7M cash on hand – nearly $35 million more than it did at the same point in 2018. At this point in 2018, the DCCC had raised $206M and had $69M cash on hand.
“The grassroots are fed up with Washington Republicans’ attacks on their health care, especially during a pandemic – and they’re responding with an unprecedented investment in protecting and expanding the House Democratic majority,” DCCC Chairwoman Cheri Bustos said. “
The DCCC raised $17.2M through grassroots donations in August – $6M more than it raised through grassroots donations in August 2018 with an average online donation of $23. The DCCC also had its best-ever phone and mail-based fundraising month ever, and August 2020’s $8.2M haul surpassed August of 2018 by approximately $4M.
As of July, the DCCC had nearly $31M more cash on hand than the NRCC. In total, the DCCC had outraised the NRCC by more than $52M for the cycle.
