Collins Accused of Conspiracy, Wire Fraud and Lying to the FBI Will Head to Court Next Year
DCCC Spokesperson Christine Bennett issued the following statement on the one year anniversary of Congressman Chris Collins’ (NY-27) indictment and arrest:
“One year ago, Chris Collins was arrested for conspiracy, wire fraud, and false statements, effectively securing his Chairmanship of the Congressional Criminal Caucus. Since that time the embattled Congressman has been removed from his committee assignments by the leaders of his party and watched as his grassroots support in NY-27 all but evaporated into thin air. As Congressman Collins constituents tire of him embarrassing them publicly on a monthly basis, the only people left standing by Congressman Collins are big-money special interests in Washington.”
