Following vulnerable Republican Carlos Curbelo’s sudden change of heart towards the bipartisan DREAM Act, DCCC Hispanic Media Director Javier Gamboa issued the following statement:
“Carlos Curbelo knows that his political career is hanging on by a thread, which has apparently led him to finally sign onto the DREAM Act, after months of leaving immigrant families in limbo and in fear. Carlos Curbelo is in the majority in Congress, yet he has failed to bring this bill – or any other solution for DREAMers – to the floor. At this point, signing onto this legislation is completely insufficient, and the only person that this grandstanding is aimed at helping is Curbelo himself.”
