Today, DCCC Chairman Sean Patrick Maloney released the following statement celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month:
“Hispanic Heritage Month is a time to celebrate and reflect on the historic and heroic contributions the Hispanic community has made to make our country great. Whether it be military service, education, farming, labor movements, small businesses, or medical care – the Hispanic community has been and remains crucial to the story of America.
“As Election Day nears, we must pay mind to what’s at stake and the choice that voters in the Hispanic community will have to make. Voters will get to choose between a party fighting for them – working to lower costs, improve infrastructure, cap prescription drug prices, improve education and focus on issues that affect everyday Hispanics – and a Republican party full of extremists that is focused on ripping away freedoms and vilifying the very communities they are trying to court.
“The Hispanic community is vital to our country, and this month is a chance to pay respect, honor the adversity they’ve faced, and celebrate the contributions that they have made and continue to make every day.”
