DCCC spokesperson Jacob Peters released the following statement on the GA-06 primary results:
“The case against Rep. Karen Handel has always been strong, but it has only gotten stronger since she went to Congress and became a reliable vote for Washington Republicans. Handel supported the GOP Tax Scam, which gives a handout to large corporations, slashes a deduction for homeowners that benefits a huge number of her constituents, and guts a key provision of the Affordable Care Act, which is expected to raise premiums by nearly 20% next year in Georgia.
“With all of the chaos in Washington and spiraling health care costs, voters are going to hold Karen Handel accountable. Make no mistake, she now has a toxic voting record and is extremely vulnerable heading into November.”
