Speaker Ryan’s do-nothing, imperiled majority not inspiring confidence in his colleagues
In response to the news that Congressman Bob Goodlatte (VA-06) is the latest of many House Republicans to announce their retirement, DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law issued the following statement:
“Speaker Paul Ryan’s do-nothing majority is increasingly imperiled by the rapid pace of House Republican retirements. It’s clear that Congressman Bob Goodlatte and his fellow escapees would prefer doing anything other than defend Ryan’s unpopular agenda. With the healthcare repeal and now the latest Republican tax scam creating a dark cloud over vulnerable House Republicans, we’re certain to see more retirements this year.”
