DCCC Hispanic Media Director and DACA beneficiary Javier Gamboa issued the following statement after the latest development on DACA:
“Despite this positive development on DACA, we cannot lose track of what’s at stake: DREAMers are being forced back into the shadows and are at greater risk of being deported. House Republicans, like Representatives Carlos Curbelo, Mike Coffman, Jeff Denham, David Valadao and Will Hurd, abandoned a bipartisan solution that would’ve protected these hardworking, law-abiding young immigrants. They failed their constituents and their communities and don’t deserve to come back to Congress.
“Make no mistake: after Republicans’ repeated failures to act, voters understand that a commonsense solution for DREAMers is only possible under a Democratic-controlled Congress.”
