Tonight, Emilia Sykes won the highly competitive race to represent Ohio’s 13th Congressional District. DCCC Chairman Sean Patrick Maloney released the following statement congratulating Congresswoman-elect Sykes on her victory:
“Congratulations to Congresswoman-elect Emilia Sykes. As a former Ohio House minority leader who’s worked across the aisle to get things done, Emilia already knows what it will take to deliver for Ohioans in Congress on day one. Emilia’s know-how and experience will be critical to Congress’ work to lower costs, protect women’s freedoms, make health care more affordable, and fight for safer communities.”
Congresswoman-elect Sykes is the first Black woman elected to represent Ohio’s 13th Congressional District.
