DCCC Chairman Sean Patrick Maloney issued the following statement on Lauren Underwood’s win in IL-14:
“Congresswoman Lauren Underwood became the first person of color, first woman, and first millennial elected to represent the 14th District when she originally flipped this highly competitive seat. When she was sworn into office in 2019, she became the youngest Black woman to ever serve in Congress. From day one on the job, she has proven to be a leader, change maker, and valuable voice within our caucus. I congratulate her on her victory this evening and I’m excited to see her continue to break barriers and deliver results for her constituents.”
