Following the Maryland Governor’s Redistricting Advisory Commission (GRAC) voting to recommend a new map proposal to the General Assembly as a response to Republican gerrymandering, DCCC Executive Director Julie Merz released the following statement:
“The Maryland Governor’s Redistricting Advisory Commission took a major step today toward ensuring that the voice of Marylanders won’t be diminished in the face of national Republicans’ unprecedented mid-decade gerrymandering scheme. Marylanders won’t sit back while Republican-controlled states including Texas, Missouri, North Carolina, and Florida attempt to rig the midterm elections. We look forward to the General Assembly moving quickly to take up these new maps.”
