DCCC Statement on Michigan’s 4th District

“Bill Huizenga is staring down the race of his life, and he is going to lose thanks to his long record of putting special interests ahead of Michigan families. Voters have had enough of Huizenga raising their costs, attacking their health care, and giving himself tax breaks – they’ll retire him next year.” 

Huizenga is in for the race of his life:

• Earlier this month, Inside Elections shifted Michigan’s 4th Congressional District in Democrats’ direction from “Likely Republican” to “Lean Republican.”
• This ratings change follows a new poll showing “a statistical dead heat” in MI-04, as Bill Huizenga’s approval is twelve points underwater and he’s running neck-and-neck with Democrats in the race.
• Cook Political wrote that MI-04 “could host a competitive race next year” as Republicans’ margins continue to shrink as “West Michigan has been a bright spot for Democrats.”
• Governor Gretchen Whitmer carried MI-04 with more than 50% of the vote in 2022.
