Following breaking news that Missouri’s Supreme Court unanimously ruled that voters should decide the outcome of elections, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the below statement:
“Today’s decision is a victory for every Missourian who believes in free, fair elections.
“Jefferson City Republicans know they can’t win on their toxic, price-spiking agenda, so they tried to fix the election before a single vote was cast. Now, because of today’s decision, voters rightfully get to exercise their constitutional right to have the final say over which map will be used moving forward.
“I’m grateful to the plaintiffs, advocates, and countless others who pushed back against Republicans’ desperate attempt to rig the midterms in order to cling to power, and I applaud the court’s decision to keep the power firmly in the hands of the people. The DCCC stands with Missouri voters as they prepare to officially reject Republicans’ partisan, gerrymandered map at the ballot box in November.”
