| Following the announcement that North Carolina Republican Leadership has selected Jennifer Balkcom to replace disgraced Chuck Edwards, DCCC spokesperson Madison Andrus released the following statement:
“The smoky backrooms have spoken – Republican politicians’ choice to replace the third disgraced NC-11 nominee in a row will be outspoken extremist Jennifer Balkcom, who has already sold out North Carolinians for special interest money in Raleigh. There is no doubt that she will do the same in D.C. Voters know where her loyalties lie and it is not North Carolina’s working families.
“Western North Carolina deserves a representative they can be proud of, not a party lackey who has voted repeatedly against Medicaid, supports extremist abortion bans without exceptions for rape, incest, or the life of the mother, and proudly stands beside disgraced Mark Robinson.
“North Carolinians are not going to settle for party bosses choosing their representatives without any input from voters. This November, they are going to choose a fighter who will stand with them and send Jamie Ager to Congress.” |
