DCCC Statement on North Carolina’s 11th Congressional District

Following the announcement that North Carolina Republican Leadership will select a nominee to replace Chuck Edwards on the November ballot after he dropped his re-election bid, DCCC spokesperson Madison Andrus released the following statement:

“For more than a year, Jamie Ager has built a coalition of working families, farmers, small businesses owners, and the people of Western North Carolina. Focused on the issues that matter most to working families, Jamie has stepped up for his community where politicians have let them down.

“Whoever replaces Chuck Edwards will not have been chosen by the voters but in a backroom somewhere by the same Republican insiders who abandoned WNC after Hurricane Helene, who have driven up the cost of everything from diesel fuel to groceries, and who have caused a health care crisis throughout NC-11. Whatever hand-picked lackey is on the ballot this November will have to answer for this record.

“No matter who the extremist Republican leadership chooses, Jamie Ager is going to win this race because he is a man by, of, and for his community.”
