DCCC Communications Director Courtney Rice issued the following statement after the NRCC Chair pledged his loyalty to twice impeached, criminally convicted Donald Trump over working families:
“Tonight Richard Hudson confirmed that House Republicans only care about one thing: stroking Donald Trump’s ego. Instead of focusing on ways to lower costs, grow the economy, or protect reproductive freedom – he spent his speech promising that House Republicans will do whatever makes Trump happy, even if it means selling out working families and undermining our justice system. It might have been the perfect speech to woo Trump, but it will surely lose them their House majority.”
