Today, Republicans are following up on their plan to pass a nationwide abortion ban by introducing two bills that would do just that. Now that the Republican-appointed Supreme Court overturned Roe and ripped away women’s reproductive freedom, congressional Republicans – led by MAGA extremists like the reported 80 House Republican co-sponsors, Lindsey Graham and anti-choice Susan B. Anthony List – are putting their foot on the gas to ban abortion in every state across the country.
Every Republican running for Congress will now be tied to their party’s promise to pass a nationwide abortion ban – at a time when voters are lining up to reject anti-choice extremists. These flawed, extreme, and dangerous candidates will also have to answer to their own deeply unpopular positions, including calls to ban abortion without exceptions for rape, incest, or threats to the health and life of the woman.

“No one is safe from Republicans’ crusade against women and our reproductive freedoms, and this legislation proves it. No matter how hard candidates try to hide their own extreme positions or scrub their websites, voters will know that if elected, a Republican majority will pass a nationwide abortion ban.”
