DCCC Statement on Rob Wittman Campaigning With House Republican Conference Chair on His Big, Ugly Bill

Augusta Health announced just days ago they are closing three health care clinics in Virginia directly because of Wittman’s vote

In response to Congressman Rob Wittman campaigning with House Republican Conference Chairwoman Lisa McClain in Virginia to tout his Big, Ugly Bill that just shuttered three health clinics in the Commonwealth, DCCC Spokesperson Eli Cousin issued the following statement:

“It’s stunning that Congressman Rob Wittman is campaigning on his Big, Ugly Bill just days after three health care clinics in Virginia were forced to close their doors as a direct result of his vote. Wittman lied when he promised he would protect Virginians’ health care, and we are already seeing the devastating consequences play out. It’s clear that after nearly 20 years in Washington, Wittman has completely lost touch with the hardworking Virginians he is supposed to represent. Voters will hold Wittman accountable for his record of ripping away health care from 350,000 Virginians, shuttering health clinics and putting rural hospitals like Rappahannock General at risk, increasing already long wait times, and jacking up costs for Virginians.”
