Today, DCCC Executive Director Julie Merz released the following statement after the Supreme Court of Virginia said the Commonwealth can proceed with the special election to decide on a temporary measure to ensure a free and fair congressional map ahead of the 2026 elections:
“Virginians deserve the opportunity to decide for themselves who represents them, the Supreme Court of Virginia agrees, and we look forward to letting voters decide in April.”
