Today, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to allow businesses to refuse service to someone on the basis of sexual orientation:
“Discrimination in any form, anywhere, should not be tolerated, much less legal. The court’s immoral decision frighteningly allows businesses to discriminate against LGBTQ+ people.
“This Court has now set a shameful precedent – effectively declaring that discriminating against LGBTQ+ people can be legal. This is unconscionable, wrong, and erodes decades of progress.
“Despite today’s ruling, the fight for equality will continue. House Democrats remain committed to standing up against the hateful ideological extremism behind this decision and will not stop until we achieve equality and inclusion for the LGBTQ+ community and for all Americans.”
