Today, DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement after the U.S. Supreme Court restricted the use of affirmative action in college admissions:
“This decision is a tragic blow to our nation’s collective efforts to build a more fair and just society through equitable access to jobs, higher education, and other life-changing opportunities. House Democrats know diversity makes our country and institutions stronger, which benefits each and every American.
“Despite today’s decision, we are unified and committed to fighting back against right-wing ideological extremism that seeks to turn back the progress we have made towards equality for all; ensuring everyone is afforded the opportunity and rights that we are all guaranteed as Americans.”
