DCCC Statement on Trump’s Visit to NY-04 to Campaign With Handpicked GOP Rubberstamp Jeanine Driscoll

DCCC spokesperson Riya Vashi released the following statement ahead of Donald Trump’s visit to Nassau County today to campaign with Jeanine Driscoll:

“Long Island families are struggling to get by under Donald Trump’s affordability crisis every single day — at the gas pump, the grocery store, and the doctor’s office — and Jeanine Driscoll’s answer is to welcome him to Nassau County with open arms. Driscoll has already pledged her ‘100%’ loyalty to the agenda making Nassau County families’ lives more expensive, and in local government, she delivered the largest tax hike in Town history. Nassau families see right through her false promises, and this November they’re sending Laura Gillen back to Congress to keep fighting for them.”

REMINDER: Jeanine Driscoll has pledged her ‘100%’ loyalty to the extreme agenda raising costs and gutting health care for Nassau families:

  • Driscoll has pledged to “stand with the President 100% of the time” and said she has a “real issue” with any Republican who doesn’t stand with him.
  • Driscoll defended the Big, Ugly Bill, which is projected to kick nearly 25,000 NY-04 residents off their health insurance and cost Long Island over 3,500 hospital jobs.
  • Driscoll supports an agenda that has blown a $13 billion-per-year hole in New York’s health care system and gutted more than half of the funding for the Essential Plan that millions of working New Yorkers rely on.
  • Driscoll’s Big, Ugly Bill also guts SNAP, putting critical food assistance at risk for over 15,000 NY-04 households and increasing average monthly costs for Long Islanders by 32%.
