Following Chris Taylor’s victory in the Wisconsin Supreme Court race this evening, DCCC spokesperson Katie Smith released the following statement:
“Wisconsin voters sent another clear message that they are ready for leaders who put them first, meaning time is running out for out-of-touch politicians Derrick Van Orden and Bryan Steil. Van Orden and Steil promised to lower costs, but they have only made life more expensive – momentum is on Democrats’ side and Van Orden and Steil will lose because Wisconsin families are tired of politicians that put Washington first.”
Reminder of what Van Orden and Steil will be forced to answer for this November:
The rising cost of living: whether it’s groceries, gas, utilities, or health care, Van Orden and Steil promised to lower prices but have made everything more expensive.
Health care cuts raising costs, exacerbating the rural health crisis, and ripping away coverage from Wisconsin families thanks to Van Orden and Steil’s votes for the largest Medicaid cuts in history.
Farmers in crisis facing higher input costs, fewer markets, and havoc wreaked on Wisconsin’s agricultural economy thanks to Van Orden and Steil-backed tariffs.
Failure to clean up corruption in Washington because Van Orden and Steil care more about rubbing elbows with the rich and special interest groups than working for Wisconsin families.
