DCCC Statement Recognizing Labor Day

DCCC Chair Suzan DelBene released the following statement celebrating Labor Day and workers across the country:

“On this day, we celebrate the working men and women of America whose strength and resilience are the backbone of our economy and the source of our country’s growth and prosperity.

“Celebrating America’s workers also means fighting for policies that open opportunities for everyone who is willing to work hard and play by the rules. It’s how we build more pathways to the middle class and ensure everyone benefits from a strong economy, not just the wealthiest few. House Democrats are proud to have always stood with organized labor and workers, defending the rights of everyone to organize and bargain for better pay, safe working conditions, affordable health care, and a secure retirement.

“This fight remains essential as House Republicans continue to undermine the wellbeing of America’s workers. From dismantling collective bargaining, rolling back worker protections, and imposing sweeping tariffs that raise costs on families, farmers, and workers, people everywhere are seeing evidence that House Republicans only work for the wealthy and well-connected. Their failure to help hardworking Americans is why they will lose the House Majority in 2026 as House Democrats fight to build an economy that grows from the middle out, not the top down.”
