Speaker Ryan’s only bipartisan accomplishment is making Americans strongly oppose him
In response to Speaker Ryan’s announced opposition to a bipartisan solution to provide affordable and accessible healthcare to Americans facing skyrocketing premiums, DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law issued the following statement:
“In states across America premiums are skyrocketing because Congressional Republicans have failed to work with Democrats to improve access to affordable healthcare,” said DCCC Spokesman Tyler Law. “Voters already blame Congressional Republicans for these drastic premium increases, and now Speaker Ryan and House Republicans are rushing to oppose a bipartisan deal. Speaker Ryan’s only bipartisan accomplishment is making Americans strongly oppose him because Republicans have failed to get a single thing done on behalf of the American people.”
Poll after poll after poll clarify that Congressional Republicans now own healthcare failures going forward. This Republican Congress has spent the entire year trying and failing miserably to repeal the Affordable Care Act instead of working across the aisle to address the increasing costs of healthcare, and now Speaker Ryan is failing to act to stabilize the markets and protect Americans from massive rate increases after months of uncertainty. At this point Ryan’s only bipartisan accomplishment is making Americans strongly oppose him, a reality that further threatens his imperiled majority.
