DCCC Hispanic Media Advisor Fabiola Rodriguez issued the following statement following the Trump administration’s latest plan to end the DACA program:
“Last month the Supreme Court blocked the Trump administration’s unconstitutional attempt to end protections for countless hardworking DREAMers living in the U.S. And while we chanted victory, we knew this wouldn’t be the end of the administration’s cruel attacks against DREAMers striving to achieve ‘el sueño americano’.
“Today’s announcement proves yet again that the Trump Administration will stop at nothing to end the DACA program forcing our neighbors, essential workers, colleagues, and friends to live in constant fear.
“We will not allow this administration to force DREAMers back into the shadows. It is more clear than ever how vital it is that Democrats protect and expand our House majority, as we continue to be the only firewall against the hateful recklessness of President Trump.
“DREAMers are here to stay, and Democrats are committed to finally fixing our broken immigration system and passing comprehensive immigration reform.”
