DCCC Targets Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks at State Fair for Siding With Far-Right Extremists Who Attacked Our Democracy

DCCC launches Iowa billboard campaign holding Hinson and Miller-Meeks accountable for opposing bipartisan committee investigating the deadly January 6 assault on U.S. Capitol

As Eastern Iowans travel to the State Fair this week, they’ll be reminded of Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks’ out-of-touch record of standing with far-right extremists who attacked our democracy.

The DCCC is announcing a week-long billboard campaign targeting Hinson and Miller-Meeks for siding with party leaders and extremists, including conspiracy theorist Marjorie Taylor Greene and accused sexual predator Matt Gaetz, who will be attending the State Fair this week.

Hinson and Miller-Meeks stood in the way of a bipartisan select committee established to uncover the truth about the violent January 6 attack. Hinson and Miller-Meeks must tell Iowans: what are they so determined to hide?

“Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks have made clear their allegiances are with far-right extremists who attacked our democracy and conspiracy theorists like Marjorie Taylor Greene — and not Iowans,” said DCCC spokesperson Elena Kuhn. “Hinson and Miller-Meeks must explain to Iowa fairgoers why they wouldn’t stand up for our democracy when given the chance.”
