DCCC reveals offensive battlefield list, places CA-13 and CA-22 on offensive Districts In Play list
Today, the DCCC revealed its initial Districts In Play for the 2024 cycle and named CA-13 and CA-22, currently represented by John Duarte and David Valadao, as offensive target districts that will help Democrats win back the House majority in 2024.
In CA-13, John Duarte won by just 564 votes. In CA-22, David Valadao won by just 3,132 votes. Both are districts President Biden won in 2020 and with House Republicans’ clear commitment to embracing extremism and putting politics before people, Democrats will be able strategically and aggressively target districts like CA-13 and CA-22 as our path to the majority.
DCCC spokesperson Tommy Garcia:
“The Central Valley deserves leaders who will tackle actual challenges like prescription drug prices, infrastructure, and protecting freedoms – not rubber stamp Republicans like John Duarte and David Valadao who are more committed to advancing an extreme Republican agenda filled with partisan investigations, out-of-touch legislation, and protecting wealthy donors. The DCCC will work every day to ensure voters have a clear choice in 2024.”
The DCCC is targeting eight districts in California as part of its District In Play list: CA-03, CA-13, CA-22, CA-27, CA-40, CA-41, CA-45, and CA-47.
The DCCC’s Districts In Play are competitive Republican-held or open districts across the nation that are critical battlegrounds as the DCCC works to unseat Republicans and win a Democratic House majority this cycle.
Additionally, this cycle will mark the first time ever that the DCCC has launched nominee fund pages, which allows grassroots donors to donate now to contribute to the eventual Democratic nominee in these Districts In Play.
