DCCC Targets MI-07 and MI-10 as Democrats Plot Path to Majority

DCCC reveals offensive battlefield list, paces open MI-07 and Republican held MI-10 on offensive Districts In Play list

Today, the DCCC revealed its initial Districts In Play for the 2024 cycle and named MI-10, currently represented by John James, and the open MI-07 seat as offensive target districts that will help Democrats win back the House majority in 2024.

In 2022, John James won MI-10 by less than one percentage point, after losing the district in both his 2020 and 2018 failed senatorial bids.

While MI-07 is an open seat, Elissa Slotkin carried the district by 5 points and Republican candidates were unable to raise the funds necessary to win. The DCCC is confident that with the right resources and a strong candidate, we will hold this seat.

DCCC spokesperson Tommy Garcia:
“John James is a MAGA sympathizer more focused on empowering far-right extremists, partisan investigations, pushing out-of-touch legislation, rolling back reproductive freedom, and protecting wealthy corporations than working for everyday Michiganders. The DCCC will work every day to ensure voters have a clear choice in 2024.”

The DCCC’s Districts In Play are competitive Republican-held or open districts across the nation that are critical battlegrounds as the DCCC works to unseat Republicans and win a Democratic House majority this cycle.

Additionally, this cycle will mark the first time ever that the DCCC has launched nominee fund pages, which allows grassroots donors to donate now to contribute to the eventual Democratic nominee in these Districts In Play.
