DCCC reveals offensive battlefield list, places CA-27 on offensive Districts In Play list
Today, the DCCC revealed its initial Districts In Play for the 2024 cycle and named CA-27, currently represented by Mike Garcia, as an offensive target district that will help Democrats win back the House majority in 2024.
Mike Garcia is one of 18 House Republicans representing a district President Biden won in 2020 and CA-27 is the second highest Biden victory margin on the DCCC’s offensive list at 12.6 points. Mike Garcia is extreme and Democrats will hold him accountable.
Mike Garcia is a MAGA extremist who voted against certifying the 2020 election, even after rioters stormed the Capitol in a deadly insurrection.
Garcia has campaigned on fully repealing the Affordable Care Act, despite the fact that some 1.7 million Californians annually rely on the ACA since its creation; Garcia insisted we need to get the ACA “off the books” and that he only supports Medicare “at certain levels.”
DCCC spokesperson Tommy Garcia:
“Mike Garcia is a MAGA extremist who is less concerned with the needs of the community he represents and more committed to advancing an extreme Republican agenda filled with partisan investigations, out-of-touch legislation, and rolling back reproductive freedoms nationwide. The DCCC will work every day to ensure CA-27 voters have a clear choice in 2024.”
The DCCC is targeting eight districts in California as part of its District In Play list: CA-03, CA-13, CA-22, CA-27, CA-40, CA-41, CA-45, and CA-47.
The DCCC’s Districts In Play are competitive Republican-held or open districts across the nation that are critical battlegrounds as the DCCC works to unseat Republicans and win a Democratic House majority this cycle.
Additionally, this cycle will mark the first time ever that the DCCC has launched nominee fund pages, which allows grassroots donors to donate now to contribute to the eventual Democratic nominee in these Districts In Play.
